Hollingdean and Stanmer ward is part of a Brighton & Hove Council Neighbourhood Governance pilot. If you live in this ward you’re a participant and could be directly affected by the changes made.
A steering group has been formed to carry out the Project “Off the Ground – change in your community”. It’s about helping to make where you live a better place and about you having a say in how services are run where you live.
We are local residents and service providers trying to make positive changes by increasing the communication between us, so services can better meet the needs of residents and where appropriate, hand those services over to the community.
The website has just gone live – have a look at http://offthegroundhsw.org. There will lots more being added so keep popping back to it.
Off the Ground will be using social media – twitter, facebook, texting – and the website to involve residents.
If you don’t use any of these or don’t have access to a computer then don’t worry, we will be running ‘Drop-Ins’ at the Community Centre when you can come along and be shown how to use our computer to access the website.
For those interested, free training can be set up in how to use social media.
Dates for the drop-ins are the last Friday of each month: 22nd February; 26th April; 24th May; 28th June; 26th July 2.00pm to 4.00pm at the Community Centre.
